This course aims to provide an accessible introduction to the world of theater. For those who might feel intimidated by the seemingly large threshold to join, for those who want to get involved but simply don’t know where to start, or for those who want a non-exhaustive introduction without having to commit 4 units to a TDPS class: we are for you! This course will consist of a 2-hour lecture once a week, taught both by facilitators and guest lecturers, as well as readings connected to the topic of the week. The class will culminate in a hands-on project in which students will have the opportunity to have experience dealing with any of the aspects of theater we have covered in our course. Students will also learn about different opportunities on campus, for any aspect of theater.
The topics covered will include: Acting, Directing, Stage Management, Lighting and Scenic Design, Makeup and Costuming Design, Playwriting, and many, many more!
This course is started by and affiliated with Untitled Theater Company on campus. To learn more about us, or get involved with any of our productions, follow us on Instagram @untitledtheaterberkeley or join our mailing list on our linktree! https://linktr.ee/untitledtheater
