Contemplating Commercialization is an 11-week long introductory course designed for students who are interested in drug discovery and development and want to learn how they can join the industry. The first few weeks of the course are lecture-based (in-person) and will delve into each point of the process of drug development. The second half of the course will be focused on group work, in which you will be asked to present a business plan for a fictional drug (well, fictional during the period of the course). Overall, this course will provide students with an engaging and comprehensive look into the drug development process and give them valuable experience that they can utilize when creating their own biotech company or contributing to another. Upon completion of the course, students will have an ample understanding of the opportunities available for them and what it takes to access them. There are no readings for this course.
It is expected that students are passionate, open-minded, and excited about exploring the topics at hand.
