Music & Medicine is a course that has the intention to unite individuals who find interest in biological sciences and/or music. The course will explore the various ways that music has been implemented in medicinal purposes, with a valuable look into the underlying science. The course is set up to be engaging for all students, with in-class activities and participation/discussion amongst students and facilitators. There is no requirement of a biology or music background for this course! Attendance is mandatory but we are more than understanding of the time we are in and always have ways to accommodate.
Each week there is a short homework survey and there are three write ups due throughout the semester, about 200-300 words long. There are no exams for this course. Instead, there is a final project presentation in which students will be given the opportunity to further their knowledge on a concept that was covered in the course. There is a lot of freedom and flexibility with this project because we want to ensure that students are passionate about what they present. We want to emphasize this is a stress free fun class that we hope you look forward to coming to each week! If you would like to enroll the class code is 23542. We are excited to bring Music & Medicine to students and look forward to seeing everyone in Spring 2025!
