The course emphasizes culturally competent care and the role of community health workers in bridging health equity gaps. By the end of the course, students will develop skills to create effective nutritional health interventions tailored to the unique needs of Asian American populations in San Francisco. At the end of the semester students will have the opportunity to volunteer at San Francisco Chinese Hospital or contribute to a nutrition book project, creating a recipe book that incorporates cultural nutrition for San Francisco's Asian population.
