Intro to Valuations exposes students to the fundamental tools of finance, focusing on everything from basic accounting to advanced valuation and financial modeling. Students will learn and apply concepts through case studies, modeling, and assessments. The final project will be a case study requiring students to build out a financial model for a specific scenario. Aside from that, there will be no papers or major exams. Occasionally, there will be small quizzes to test for proficiency and identify areas of improvement.
No prior experience is necessary for the class. The course is designed to foster an understanding of topics and provide an entryway to the technical side of finance. Facilitators will leverage their personal experiences to support students, providing an intimate learning environment and a fruitful exchange of ideas.
Attendance for the class is mandatory, with room for two excused absences.
