“MEDLIFE stands for Medicine, Education, and Development for Low-income Families Everywhere. Our mission is to help families achieve greater freedom from the constraints of poverty, empowering them to live healthier lives.”

Led by our education co-chairs, the purpose of the DeCal is to effectively prepare students before attending a week-long medical brigade in Lima, Peru. The weekly class focuses on each station students will attend abroad. A main focus of the class is also addressing cultural competency and preparing students to practice cultural humility abroad and think critically before attending this powerful experience. Other aspects of this class include professional development and collaborative teamwork.” You will also learn basic Medical Spanish and how to speak to patients.
