This course is designed to introduce students to the history, and cultural importance Strawberry Creek was, and is as an urban creek. This decal will also cover the importance of habitat restoration programs at UC Berkeley and beyond. We'll look at the principles and approaches for restoring native habitats, with a special emphasis on the natural areas in the Strawberry Creek riparian corridor on campus. Students will learn about Strawberry Creek's historical and present significance, as well as have hands-on experience removing invasive species from its banks.
Mandatory attendance, but we are understanding of unknown circumstances. Reflections on readings and guest speakers, as well as hands-on required volunteer experiences.
