This course provides an overview of the historical development of Armenian philosophy, its major themes, and the contributions of Armenian philosophers to world philosophy/Armenian history. This course will cover topics such as metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, aesthetics, and social and political philosophy, with an emphasis on the Armenian cultural and historical context.
After taking this class, students will know more about Armenian philosophy and culture. Through engaging with the texts, lectures, and discussions students will gain an understanding of Armenian philosophy with relevant context.
Students' grades are mostly determined by attendance and engagement in class discussions. As such, in-person attendance is required.
