Welcome to the Medicinal Nutrition Decal, a fascinating and in-depth course that explores the relationship between diet and medical therapy. This course is made to give the students useful knowledge and skills, whether they want to work in the healthcare industry or just want to improve their own health-related behaviors.
During the course, the students will learn preventative nutritional medicine, culinary methods, healthy living, and scientific approaches uncovering the effects of nutrition in medicine. Students will listen to lectures, participate in projects, complete at-home assignments, and participate in discussions to obtain a P/NP grade in this course.
Attendance is required, but students will be allowed excused absences. The assigned readings will be reviewed in lectures, so don’t stress if you aren't able to grasp everything from the readings! We will have a few written assignments, and students will be given alternative assignment options (e.g. cooking a healthy meal and sharing photos, recipes, and macros). The assignments are graded on effort. There is one take-home quiz and one final project that is required to pass the class.
To successfully complete the course, you'll be required to take a take-home quiz and work on a final project. These components will contribute to your final grade, which will be based on class participation (40%), assignments (40%), and the final project (20%).
