The housing crisis decal is run by Cal Habitat for Humanity, the UC Berkeley branch of Habitat for Humanity.
[Content] - You will learn about concepts that are extremely relevant to the modern housing scene like the history of how it came to be, important housing institutions, political advocacy related to housing, gentrification and cost of living, etc.
[Logistics] - There are no papers or exams, rather discussions and reflections completed by students to engage them in learning about the housing crisis.
You will write reflections on lectures given by the facilitators and on the lectures/presentations given by many guest speakers who come from organizations focused on housing policy and political advocacy!
There is also a field work aspect of the class where you will go out and do good volunteering work with organizations related to housing.
Attendance is required, but a make up assignment can be completed in order to make up for an absence. Students may do this twice.
