***FIRST DAY OF CLASS BEGINS THE WEEK OF JANUARY 28***
Ever wanted to learn how to build an app, but didn't know where to start?
Cubstart is the Decal for you!
Cubstart is Cal Hacks’ course for beginner hackers at UC Berkeley. Throughout the semester, we will provide mentorship and workshops for all students to learn basic skills in programming, team building, and ideation.
In addition to weekly lecture and lab, you will work in teams on a semester-long project developing your own apps. You will be split into two tracks—iOS and web development—to learn the necessary skills to build on your respective platforms.
PREREQUISITES:
iOS Track - Student must have access to a machine with macOS.
Web Track - None
Although there are no hard prerequisite courses for either track, students are expected to have prior exposure to programming. Specifically, the iOS Development track assumes that students have at least beginner to intermediate programming experience. On the other hand, the Web Development track assumes that students have at least a beginner's level of programming experience (any prior programming experience is sufficient). It is possible to succeed in both courses with no prior programming experience; however, be prepared to do extra outside work.
