In this course, we will explore currently existing unmet clinical needs—what that means and what they look like—and innovative methods to resolve them. It will challenge students to come up with innovative solutions to these problems at the intersection of biology, medicine, engineering, and technology. However, no experience in any of these areas is necessary! The course will be taught from the bottom up, with lectures covering all necessary clinical background and discussions with classmates fueling interdisciplinary collaboration. The goal is to fuel creative thinking and explore novel solutions for currently existing problems in healthcare. The class is graded on attendance, presentations, and a relatively short final paper.
