CURIE is a program where undergraduates without research experience will learn how research is conducted at Berkeley from experienced undergraduate researchers. Our DeCal will foster an understanding of how research is conducted, develop essential skills such as reading literature and analyzing data, and build relationships within the CoC community between upperclassmen, underclassmen, graduate students, and faculty. Mentees will hear from a number of upperclassmen in various research groups and will choose a project/research topic that interests them to research further.
There will be weekly general DeCal meetings on Mondays from 5-6:30 PM. 1 general meeting absence will be excused after notifying a board member in advance.
Homework will vary week to week; students will be asked to independently read papers and analyze using a guided worksheet, use various chemistry/analytical softwares, and work on their mentor projects. All of the work done will culminate in a final group poster presentation at the end of the semester.
No day(s) left until application deadline!
