Welcome to the Introduction to Buyside Financial Modeling DeCal. We will be meeting for the first time on Monday, September 12th at 6PM in Cheit C330. Classes will be held every Monday at the same time.

This first class is mandatory to be eligible to enroll in the decal. If you are interested in taking this course, please come out for the first meeting to go over the syllabus and to see if this is the right course for you.

This course is designed to bridge the gap between finance theory and economic reality. While many students understand both the basics of finance and Microsoft Excel, they are unable to effectively merge these two skills into applicable, real-world financial models. The course will take a “zero-to-sixty” approach to modeling, beginning with Excel basics and best practices, and culminating in the development of a simple leveraged buyout model. No prior knowledge of or experience with financial modeling is required.

The first class is mandatory to be eligible to enroll in the decal (9/12/2022 at 6PM PST in Cheit C330).
