Do you want to learn how to converse in Cantonese about daily topics with friends, or understand Hong Kong movie dialogues or slang? Well, this class is for you! This class will teach you how to introduce yourself to your friends in Cantonese and impress your friends with Hong Kong’s latest slang! Aside from learning about HK’s rich history since WW2, you will also get to know more about the developments in HK’s film and food culture.

This course is designed for students with little to no knowledge of Cantonese. It is a conversational course where students will practice Cantonese out loud in class. There will be no midterms, but a final group project will allow students to present their research and express their take on Cantonese culture.

Attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class. Each student is allowed 2 unexcused absences.
