Course Objective:
The goal of this DeCal is to introduce UC Berkeley students to the theory and application of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and prepare them to become socially responsible business professionals. During each session, we will assess a different industry and evaluate its impact on People, Planet, and Profit. Because corporate sustainability encompasses a wide range of concepts, students will study a variety of fields including business administration, environmental studies, technology, economics, public health, and political science.
Key Learning Objective:
Students will leave this course with a strong foundation in CSR principles and the ability to engage with global environmental and social issues. By the end of this course, students will attain a strong understanding of the ways businesses can profit while positively impact society and the environment.
Grading:
The class will be graded on a P/NP basis and those who pass will receive 2 credits in UGBA 198. The final grade in the class will be distributed as follows :
