The UC Berkeley Undergraduate Graphics Group (UCBUGG) is a casual bunch of students who want to introduce our fellow peers to the art of producing a 3D-animated short film. By offering both a basic and advanced curriculum, our course guides students of all skill levels through the production pipeline using Autodesk Maya, Pixar's Renderman, and various Adobe software.
Students will collaborate in teams to create a short film that they will present at a screening at the end of the semester. Along the way, they will be required to do in-class labs to be able to apply skills outside of the required coursework.
This course is an unofficial pre-requisite to CNM 190, cross-listed as CS 194-8. Note that students will be also graded by a letter grade (A, B, C, D, F) for internal purposes in addition to a P/NP grade.
